A community consultation film about Three Mills Island in Bow, East London. Looking at how the space could be improved to meet the needs of local people, stakeholders and visitors. Commissioned by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority [2002, 56′]

Bounded on three sides by canals and rivers, Three Mills Island is home to a public park, the world famous 3 Mills Film Studios run by Workspace plc and a Grade 1 listed tidal mill from the Saxon era. It’s also adjacent to a diverse and flourishing community in one of the most built up and deprived areas of the country.

The film seeks to uncover, connect and balance the different stories of this space – how it is under-utilised and appears unwelcoming, how it could be used more dynamically, and which groups and individuals might be involved in that process.
