Ageing Festively

.

Immediate Theatre and Arcola Theatre Over 50’s Group take the spirits of Christmas into the community. A group of 9 local residents worked with Artistic Director Jo Carter to explore themes from the festive season, looking back on memories of Christmas past and facing the challenges of Christmas presents! The group used popular music, games, jokes and traditions to develop a cabaret production which has been touring to community venues, encouraging other older people to share their memories.
Throughout the process the group also worked with Hackney film maker, Bhavesh Hindocha, gathering stories from performers and audiences and making films and animations. The project culminated in an installation in Dalston C.L.R. James Library, where the film can be viewed by the public.
