A three year project led by Clair Chapwell, former Artistic Director of Spare Tyre Theatre Company, working in several day centres across London. Using music, drama, and dance to engage elders, some with dementia, and get them involved in public performance.
The project aims were to combat the isolation of elders and challenge stereotypes of old age. The participants learned new skills, got the chance to express themselves in creative ways, made new friends, and performed in three annual public shows. The documentary Loud Minority made of this process over three years was broadcast on The Community Channel.
